Do you want to create meaningful events that make a real difference?

AjaBajaCancer is a non-profit organization founded in 2018 with the goal of easing the everyday lives of families affected by childhood cancer. Our vision is that no one should feel alone when a child is diagnosed with cancer. Over the past year, we have supported approximately 600 families – and we are continuously developing our support. The work is currently carried out by an office and our important volunteers.

We are now looking for you who want to be a key person in our team, responsible for our events. With us, you will have the opportunity to help build a new role and develop together with a growing organization, where your commitment makes a real difference.

AjaBajaCancer is now looking for an Event Project Manager

As an Event Project Manager, you will have a central role in the organization. You will be responsible for planning, executing, and evaluating our events as well as coordinating and developing our volunteer activities. The role reports to the Secretary General and works closely with the marketing department.

Your main tasks

Event Planning and Execution

  • Develop new fundraising and informational events
  • Plan, organize, and execute your own events
  • Coordinate staffing and activities at external events where AjaBajaCancer participates
  • Ensure that events are carried out according to budget, timeline, and quality requirements
  • Evaluate events and report results
  • Collaborate with our communicator on clear and attractive messages
  • Contribute to strengthening the organization's visibility and brand
  • Drive and contribute to development work within events

Volunteer Activities

  • Recruit, introduce, and train volunteers
  • Develop volunteer programs and create long-term engagement
  • Ensure that volunteers have the right conditions and support
  • Build and maintain relationships with volunteers

Who are you?

We are looking for someone with a university or college degree in marketing, events, project management, or equivalent. It is an advantage if you have previous experience in event planning and project management and can take responsibility for the entire process – from idea and planning to execution and follow-up. You have basic knowledge of budgeting and follow-up and feel comfortable working towards set goals. Experience in volunteer coordination or non-profit engagement is a plus. It is also advantageous if you have experience working with CRM systems and various event or planning tools.

To thrive and succeed in this role, you are a relationship-building and service-oriented person who enjoys working closely with both volunteers, partners, and colleagues. You are confident in taking responsibility, work in a structured manner, and have the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously without losing the overall perspective. It is important that you have good organizational skills to plan, prioritize, and meet deadlines.

You are flexible and solution-oriented, see opportunities where others see obstacles, and thrive in an environment where conditions sometimes change. With your commitment and communication skills, you motivate and inspire those around you, while maintaining a clear focus on goals, results, and budget.

For you, it is important that your work makes a real difference, and you feel comfortable in a role where personal responsibility, initiative, and development are a natural part of everyday life. Together, we share AjaBajaCancer's values and are driven by the organization's purpose.
